THE BELUGA’S ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!
Marineland continues not to take responsibility for their actions in this whole entire inhumane failure. Their years of neglect and putting greed over care.
Marineland is pointing the finger to government for lack of needed funds – their deaths will be on your hands they are claiming.
Marineland said a decision to euthanize the whales, which were born in captivity, will be “a direct consequence of the minister’s decision” to withhold export permits.
Let us be clear….
FIRST: the thought of those beautiful creatures being euthanized is heartbreaking – truly heartbreaking. But sending them to China – the distress they would be exposed to on transport alone, along with zero transparency into their care with no hope of getting any issues addressed would have been so irresponsible.
SECOND: it was not only Marineland that failed these creatures. The Ontario government failed time and time again over many many years to step and protect these mammals. They had the authority – but did not have the moral courage to do it.
One again sadly, the animals are left to pay the ultimate price.
Marineland is just wanting them gone – full stop!!!!!
First the killer whales – not the beluga’s. Marineland should have been charged years and years ago but the Ontario animal welfare authorities keep turning the other way until public outcry demanded action.
