On October 20, 2025 – after 137 DAYS ON VACATION our provincially elected officials shuffle back into Queen’s Park to do the people’s business. Yes our business! They work for us – we pay them!
We encourage everyone to take moment and write your MPP to tell them what is important to you.
Are your beliefs and values being represented by the legislation of this province?

Specifically in regard to animal welfare, Ontario has shameful – truly shameful legislation and policies:
- THE PAWS ACT
- Completely deficient Standards of Care – weak and vaguely written
- These Standards are the very cornerstone of the legislation. It often leave inspectors powerless to act and remove animals from unsafe, neglectful and abusive situations
- PENNED HUNTING – AKA TRAIN & TRIAL
- Yes, it is what you think it is. Wild animals are trapped or bred for release in completely fenced in areas where hunting dogs are let loose to track them.
- These poor creatures are literally running for their lives with NO CHANCE of escape!
- There are over 20 licensed facilities in Ontario. The ONLY province that allows such cruelty!
- Doug Ford lifted a 1997 ban on the issuance of new licenses. He bent over to the lobbying of the Anglers & Hunters Federation and overs with a vested interest
- Please take a look at Animal Justice’s undercover expose’ filmed from a licensed facility just north of Kingston:
- PUPPY MILL BREEDING NOT LICENSED
- Doug Ford refuses to require the licensing of puppy millers
- Therefore these individuals remain absolutely invisible to any oversight, enforcement, justice
- Because of the brutually insufficient Basic Standards of Care – the PUPS Act is useless as the regulations are severely lacking.
- ANIMAL USED IN RESEARCH
- Ontario has unique legislation “Animals for Research Act” which allow public and private sector laboratories to confiscate domestic animals – cats and dogs from animal controls “pounds”
- Then after the whistleblowing incident at St. Joseph’s hospital in London, Premier Doug Ford acts completely shocked and appalled that beagles are being used for horrific experiments – IT’S HIS LEGISLATION THAT PERMITS THIS AND ACTUALLY AIDS IT BY MAKING THESE ANIMALS EASILY OBTAINABLE!!!!!!
- AG GAG
- Doug Ford applauded the whistleblower in the St. Joe’s animal research incident BUT it was Premier Doug Ford that brought in the Ag Gag legislation to silence whistleblowers and make them able to be criminally charges

- Doug Ford once again bending over to a very powerful voting block for him and the PC party – agriculture predominantly votes PC.
If you care about the animals and the shameful policies of this provincial government please take a moment to write your MPP (see link above) and tell them that you are looking to them to represent you.
