Nearly 6 months – Still no court date?

On June 5, 2025, Stephanie Redlick who operates Above The Stars Equine Rescue, was charged with:

  • 7 counts of Failing to Meet Standards of Care
  • 3 counts of Causing Distress
  • 3 counts of Permitting Distress

As of late November there is still no court date scheduled!

These charges came after enormous public outcry demanding that the Provincial Animal Welfare Services (AWS) press charges. The actions demanding this action took place in February.

AWS mishandled this case so badly. Horses were allowed to suffer from known and prolonged injuries. The two main Inspectors (Green & Crocker) let horses suffer (did not call in a vet to attend) for over a week after first being made aware of the horrific condition and significant injuries to some of the 16 horses. (See images below of what AWS saw and did not seek immediate vet care for).

A handful of public complaints were made about these two inspectors from people directly involved in this case via the complaints portal (Ministry of the Solicitor General). AWS Chief Melanie Milczynski closed all these complaints immediately saying there were no grounds.

Stephanie Redlick is still out there buying/selling horses. Trying to con people into providing services and not paying for them.

She is facing criminal charges for Fraud over $5,000 which is in preliminary phases now. We suspect the Crown responsible for the cruelty charges are sitting on these waiting to see the outcome of the criminal charges.

This means that Stephanie Redlick has ZERO restrictions regarding owning horses or being around horses!!!

She means to not be permitted to own or “care” for animals.
